About

Jason Hayth is a multi-disciplinary visual artist based out of Chicago. His work is contemporary figurative art grounded in cultural narrative and expressive portraiture. His practice explores identity, empowerment, and representation through bold color, dynamic composition and emotionally resonant imagery. As bi-racial artist, Jason’s journey has never fit neatly into any box—something he once saw as a curse but now embraces as a unique perspective that fuels his creativity.

A former two-sport college athlete, a Navy veteran, and a father, Jason has lived across the country and traveled beyond, absorbing and finding respect for diverse cultures, experiences, and narratives. His art is deeply influenced by his love for music, sports, entertainment culture, black culture, and gaming, merging bold visuals with storytelling that resonates across audiences.

Centering on black culture and lived experience, Height constructs visual narratives that balance realism with imaginative symbolism. His subjects are rendered with strength and presence, often infused with elements of music, spirituality, and transformation that expand the portrait beyond likeness into storytelling.

Working across canvas, mural installations, and wearable art, Hayth merges fine art sensibilities with contemporary cultural influence. His fusion of figurative painting and pop-culture reinterpretation positions his work within the broader landscape of contemporary narrative art.

Through his work, he challenges perceptions, celebrates marginalized voices, and expresses the complexity of identity. His journey can be best summed up from one of his favorite quotes from the movie dope:

"For most of my life, I've been caught in between who I really am...and how I'm perceived, in between categories and definition. I don't fit in. And I used to think that that was a curse, but... now I'm slowly starting to see... maybe it's a blessing. See, when you don't fit in, you're forced to see the world from many different angles and points of view. You gain knowledge, life lessons from disparate people and places. And those lessons, for better or worse, have shaped me.

So, who am I?"*

Jason Hayth’s art doesn’t just depict a scene—it starts a conversation. Hayth’s work invites viewers to engage with themes of resilience, pride, and self-definition, creating pieces that are both visually impactful and socially resonant. It invites viewers to explore beyond labels, beyond boundaries, and into a world where identity is fluid, dynamic, and unapologetically authentic.
